TK Elevator
United Kingdom and Ireland
Elevator hood, lift bump, molehill: Many nicknames describe the superstructures on the roofs of buildings that can't hide that there's a lift inside. They emerge when the last part of the elevator shaft, the shaft head, exceeds the room height on the top floor. The added clearance is a mandatory safety zone for the lift service technicians when they have to board the cabin roof for maintenance.
In an EOX elevator with extra-reduced shaft head, service technicians do not have to board the cabin roof. Instead, they unfold a working platform that is integrated in the cabin ceiling and then work safely from within the cabin. Thanks to this, the minimum shaft head height of an EOX elevator can be reduced to as low as 2.500 mm, allowing it to fit comfortably within modern room heights.
