Elevating Careers – TK Elevator Offers Career Development Programs to Boost Employee Opportunities
TK Elevator, a global leader in urban mobility solutions, is offering a range of development programs aimed at boosting professional growth and career advancement for employees.
With a workforce of more than 50,000 people, TK Elevator prioritizes helping employees maximize their skills and career opportunities. The company has two development programs — TOPS 2.0 and STEP — that provide critical onboarding and structured pathways for career advancement, supplying the skills needed to pursue them.
TOPS 2.0: Training for Operations Supervisors
Training for Operations Supervisors (TOPS) 2.0 is a structured six-month initiative designed for new hires or employees transitioning into leadership roles within field operations. The program begins with an intensive two-month training at the TK Elevator Innovation and Qualification Center, followed by four months of fieldwork and mentoring in host branches.
During the program, participants gain in-depth knowledge of products, business processes, and technical and managerial skills, preparing them to take on leadership positions within the company.
Upon successful completion of the six-month trainee phase, TOPS 2.0 participants are promoted to associate superintendents, taking on more responsibility in the day-to-day operations within their assigned branch. At the end of this second six-month associate phase, successful candidates receive the TOPS 2.0 qualification and are eligible to fill open operation superintendent roles in the branches. This program runs twice a year.
Nhiem Chau, an associate superintendent in the program, stated, “TK Elevator’s TOPS 2.0 training program at the headquarters in Atlanta, GA, was exceptional. The program focused on safety, leadership, operations and labor relations, to name a few. The eight-week training provided me with a solid foundation and the confidence to step into the associate superintendent role. This training has also provided me with the opportunity to build relationships with my classmates for support and development.”
STEP: Sales Training for Elevator Professionals
In conjunction with TOPS, the company’s Sales Training for Elevator Professionals (STEP) program is a comprehensive onboarding experience that combines on-the-job training and instructor-led sessions. Participants learn sales skills, product knowledge and customer relationship management strategies essential for success in sales roles.
Structured around three key areas — Learn, Apply and Present — STEP provides a holistic approach to training. Candidates acquire hands-on experience, observe sales and operations activities, and culminate their learning with presentations demonstrating their skills and knowledge.
After completing the STEP program, participants are promoted to account managers with extensive knowledge of TK Elevator equipment operations and components. They will be capable of entering and maintaining customer data using the customer resource management tool and will have a strong understanding of the processes and procedures needed to identify new sales opportunities or modifications to existing equipment.
Providing Meaningful Career Opportunities
Participants in both programs gain valuable skills and knowledge needed for career growth within the company. With TK Elevator’s investment in its staff, graduates from its programs emerge as professionals equipped with the expertise required to excel in their respective roles.
The in-depth nature of these programs and others that TK Elevator offers serves as a dependable framework for career advancement. Beyond delivering innovative elevator technology, the company is helping its staff elevate their futures too.
