A Quick Recap of the BOMA Convention 2022
Each year, the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) hosts an informative and exciting convention for their members across the country. BOMA has been the leading trade association for commercial real estate professionals for more than 100 years. BOMA was founded in 1907 to be a federation of U.S. local associations and global affiliates with a mission to advance a vibrant commercial real estate industry through advocacy, influence and knowledge. BOMA successfully represents owners, managers, service providers and all property professionals for any type of commercial building.
The location of their annual convention typically varies, and this year Nashville, Tennessee, was chosen. In the home of lively music and delectable southern cooking, building owners and managers gathered together to kick off the three-day convention on Sunday, June 25th. As a Leadership Circle Partner of BOMA, we at TK Elevator were proud to provide a booth that captivated the attention of hundreds of members each day.
Our booth was available all three days of BOMA and offered free, live T-shirt screenprinting. With designs that represented how our products move beyond combined with the ditinctive music presence of Nashville, the T-shirts were a smash hit, and we were honored to provide so many patrons with a fun gift to take home.
Day One: June 25th
The first day began with over twelve different learning sessions in the morning that covered topics ranging from sustainability to workforce development. After these riveting sessions, the first keynote speaker, Bill Taylor, took the stage. As the co-founder of Fast Company, Bill gave a great speech on performing while transforming.
The day continued on the floor with visitors getting to interact with different vendors before ending the night with a lively welcome party filled with upbeat tunes and lots of dancing. While everyone enjoyed a jam-packed day of learning and entertainment, they also had the opportunity to give back to the community. BOMA provided a charity drive hosted by The Branch of Nashville which offers emergency food support to those in need.
Day Two: June 26th
Attendees were pleasantly surprised to learn that their second day at the BOMA convention came with even more activities than the day prior. Powerful informational sessions featuring topics like cutting-edge building technology and hands-on solution demonstrations saw a high volume of attendance, and the women in commercial real estate breakfast was a highlight for many.
Back on the floor, everyone was able to wrap up the day with getting to visit with the rest of the vendors and experience every exhibit possible.
Day Three: June 27th
To close out the entire conference, the third day opened with a highly anticipated keynote speaker. BOMA International President Henry Chamberlain gave a talk on the state of the industry. He taught the audience that they should be conscious of how to utilize spaces to the best of their ability along with other notable points on moving into the future.
Henry Chamberlain’s speech was followed by the final keynote speaker of the event, Ginny Clarke, speaking on conscious leadership. Bringing her unique experiences of leading some of the world’s largest companies, she gave attendees a priority list to remember when hiring new employees and keeping a healthy workforce. This address included key areas such as building a foundation, optimizing talent and finding conscious leaders.
After the speakers gave their final thoughts, the conference capped off with the 2022 TOBY Awards for outstanding buildings of the year. This event highlighted the most extraordinary locations, with the biggest award of the night going to 10 Hudson Yards in NYC. It was a fantastic celebration and TK Elevator was honored to play an instrumental role in the conference.
TK Elevator was able to host a top-tier party called Rooftop Rodeo after the conference events. The party featured cowboy hats, country music and a selection of Nashville’s finest foods. Every attendee had a great time, and we were thrilled to celebrate so many industry leaders in one place throughout the night.
