TK Elevator’s “Uplifting” Culture
TK Elevator is one of the largest elevator manufacturers in the world. You can find our elevators in all inhabited continents, São Paulo to Singapore, Pittsburgh to Paris.
However, our global reach does not detract from our commitment to community, both ours and those around us. With over 120 local branch offices in the United States, TK Elevator associates and technicians are never far from home and value relationships formed over time.
Community from the Beginning
Community was part of TKE’s culture from the beginning. We trace our American business back to 1925, when Rotary Lift revolutionized hydraulic lift technology, which changed the industry and has become the modern endura elevator.
We have always valued the voice of our employees. In 1948, the company began publishing an internal newsletter, The Rotary Roundtable. The newsletter included an incentive program where the company provided cash prizes for their cost-saving or innovative ideas.
In 1960, Rotary Lift became Dover Elevator through a merger. The company continued to foster a community-centered culture, often bringing employees together through charitable drives and fundraisers. In one particularly delicious example from the 1990s, employees submitted their favorite recipes to a cookbook called Uplifting Cuisine. The company’s Southern roots clearly inspired many of our “master chefs”. The book includes a handful of recipes for cornbread alone!
Continuing our Uplifting Culture
Today, TK Elevator remains committed to fostering an uplifting culture, among our employees and within local communities. Much of our charitable outreach is organized by local branches or individual teams. Our employees work together on projects that strengthen connections to each other and the world around them.
In one example, the Fort Worth, Texas, branch held a raffle for the Children’s Medical Center Fund. The donations helped fund family meal cards, library cards, care kits and more. Employees raised over $1,000 for the hospital, one of the branch’s largest customers.
A team in Atlanta sent “a little sunshine” to offices affected by winter storms in February 2021 that left many across the country without power. They assembled everything yellow they could find into 21 care packages with handwritten messages, snacks and TKE sunglasses.
A group from TKE’s Seattle Branch joined volunteers at Habitat for Humanity’s 14th Annual Women Build, an event that supports local female homeowners and honors them for the impact they have on their community.
The Research and Development team held a holiday fundraiser to combat pediatric diseases and cancers. The team entered to win prizes in a holiday sweater contest and donated the proceeds to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
These are just a few of the many examples where TK Elevator’s associates have taken initiative to uplift their communities. When you do business with us, we bring our global resources to the local scale and foster close relationships. These touches have long been part of our history and will continue to inform our business in the future.
