Car Top Inspection Station

Keeping regular service by trained technicians on your calendar is good, but it's even better is you know how the technicians will perform this maintenance. One of the terms that you will hear often when talking about elevator service is the car top inspection station.

The car top station is a control panel that sits directly above the elevator cab and enables the car to be removed from normal service. Elevator technicians use this panel to make the cab run at slower speeds for inspection. In inspection mode, the car will not answer any hall calls, so the riding public cannot enter the car. This helps technicians perform their maintenance in a timely fashion and keeps them and your riders safe.
