Statute of Close safety inspection
[Elevator safety management act Article 32 & Addendum 9]
After 15 years have passed since the initial installation inspection, the close safety inspection must be conducted every three years. And in the 21st year, when the third close safety inspection is due, the elevator can only be operated if safety components are installed. [Effective from March 28, 2019]
(However, in the case of multi-family housing, an additional three years can be suspended if more than two-thirds of the residents agree.)
