TK Elevator
United Kingdom and Ireland
momentum 300 is a high-speed single-deck elevator designed for very heavy traffic, maximum speed and great heights in commercial and mixed-used premium buildings, where a high degree of customisation and performance are required.
momentum 300 excels in meeting all possible requirements of a custom-fit high-rise elevator delivering maximised uptime, across-the-board efficiency, and smart connectivity for a future-oriented elevator experience
momentum 300 gives your high-rise building a unique identity thanks to the panoramic or customisable cab shapes, free choice of materials and finishes, and tailor-made lighting options and operating panels. This one-of-a-kind design solution is engineered for heavyweight decoration, custom cabin dimensions and tall cars.
The momentum platform is a global TK Elevator development. It's the culmination of best practices and technology assets from our around-the-world R&D networks to reflect the high-rise segment's needs. Our most experienced engineers join their forces and know-how to deliver a product that is truly global – in exactly the same way architects, investors and property developers as well as skyscrapers themselves are operating and evolving on an international scale.
While we leverage the global design of momentum, it stays a remarkably local product when it comes to its industrialisation and manufacturing for the European high-rise market. Production of all major components are done on the continent, and combined with our consulting experts and experienced local organisations, we assure standardised processes, predefined product configurations, and delivery packages. The result? Reduced complexity, quick delivery, operational excellence, and product consistency at high quality levels.
Our dedicated engineering is evident in momentum's high-performance machine and inverter, both made in Germany. The unique mounting setup with additional insulation, damping and balancing measures keeps vibration and noise to a minimum, and ensures reliability and maximum ride quality.
momentum 300’s reduced energy demands will shrink your building’s operational electricity costs. An extremely efficient machine room, the traction machine’s regenerative mode, standard regenerative drive functionality and other energy-saving features such as LED lighting and stand-by mode enable momentum 300 to achieve the highest energy-rating class A in heavy-duty applications.
momentum 300 incorporates state-of-the-art components made to the strictest quality standards to achieve smooth, quiet and precise ride quality at high speeds. A sophisticated car-and-sling system, high-performance doors, an electronically controlled and friction-minimising roller guide system, precisely aligned guide rails in the elevator shaft and the Absolute Positioning System for accurate floor levelling.
To blend your elevator system with your building’s architectural design, we offer an unmatched degree of configuration flexibility to resolve complex challenges and deliver highly customised solutions. For example, the machine room could be to the side of the shaft, instead of above it. Custom cabin shapes and dimensions (adjustable in 1 mm steps) include extra-wide and extra-high doors as well as an optimised shaft efficiency and machine room layout.
Whatever the technical challenge – building sway, piston or stack effect, seismic forces or fire-fighting – the momentum platform always ensures passenger safety and long-term functionality.
momentum 300 contributes to a more sustainable building to enable certification to green rating systems such as LEED, BREEAM, DGNB, HQE, etc. Made of +80% inert and recyclable materials, momentum 300 comes with product declaration sheets for the main components, RoHS compliance as a CE-marked product and numerous energy-efficient or eco-friendly features.
When the elevator cabin travels through the shaft, air is pushed aside. At very high speeds these air streams could create unwanted noise and, depending on the architecture, even vibrations. momentum 300 tackles these side effects (the so-called "piston effect") on several fronts.
▪ Additional reduction / sealing of car and landing door gaps
▪ Extra damping layer inside the cabin wall cladding
▪ Door panels with extra insulation layer
▪ Reduction of air compression with air outlets to parallel shafts
▪ Special aerodynamic coverings on the top and bottom of the car
For speeds above 8 m/s, momentum 300 can be equipped with active roller guides that monitor the travel status in real time and adjust the moving balance constantly. The electronically controlled roller guides reduce vibrations even more, providing a smoother ride.
There are optional car doors available with double-layered insulation against vibrations. For additional handling capacity, the door opening and closing times can be adjusted to the traffic needs of the building, improving the travel experience by enabling speedier onboarding and disembarking.
High-rise innovation in action
How do high-rise elevators work?
How much does a high-rise elevator cost?
There is of course no such thing as a standard price tag for high-rise elevators. The answer naturally depends on what kind of a building is being planned, and what elevator configuration is needed. An elevator traffic analysis will deliver the required information. Once this important analysis has been carried out, we can give you a more accurate cost estimate.
A popular rule-of-thumb comparison is to vehicles: But whereas most standard residential elevators with up to 5 stops could be compared roughly to the cost of a middle class compact car, high-rise elevators are far more complex with many factors contributing to the costs: travel height, speed requirements, the number of stops (and the subsequent need for shaft doors in each of them) etc.
Additionally it should be noted that any elevator gets you far greater mileage and tends to outlast manyfold the operational lifetime of a daily-use car.
From the lobby to the top floor, the design of modern high-rise buildings is a composition of ambiances. Elevators can connect these different atmospheres fluidly, not just by facilitating the actual travel, but also by their own design. Modern material technology imposes very few limits on achieving the desired look & feel every architect and interior design expert strives for. That's why momentum 300 allows for design customisations, and is especially siuted for heavyweight cabin decorations. Whether it's marble floors or complex ceiling designs, we seamlessly apply our technical know-how to your team's design concept.
momentum 300 also offers a range of pre-designed cabin designs with a range of fixtures and signalisation components which integrate seamlessly with your building's architecture. You gain all the advantages of standardised design with enough freedom to bring authentic identity to your high-rise building.
The standard range includes a selection of predesigned cabins from our popular A and C design lines especially geared towards momentum with a choice of coloured glass and stainless steel materials, various ceiling and flooring options, fixtures and signalisation.
The advanced dispatching systems and user-friendly terminals of our AGILE Destination Control get passengers to their destination in the most efficient way. Touchless solutions, e.g. a smartphone elevator pass or touchless calls via QR code, enable safe, socially distanced usage through contactless operation and navigation.
AGILE Security Access seamlessly and openly connects to building management systems and helps to maximise your security while minimising any headaches through flexible and easily adaptable access solutions.
momentum's digital user interface is ready to be tuned to your requirements. The AGILE Design Centre will add a personal touch to your momentum 300 so passengers enjoy a positive first impression on entering the building, e.g. through individualised welcome messages.
