Ceiling Types

The ceiling of a cab is essential as it not only provides an overhead layer of protection for the passenger, shielding them from the machinery inside the hoistway. It also makes the experience a bit more relaxing!

The cab ceiling illuminates the cab to help the passenger see their surroundings. Deciding on what ceiling type is right for you is an important decision — so let’s read about a few options you’re likely to see.

Basic Flat Ceiling

A common choice with an exposed cab top and optional recessed lighting, the basic flat is the standard go-to for many buildings.

Downlight Ceiling

Downlight ceilings feature LED lighting that is sure to illuminate your cab well with six to nine lights (depending on the cab size) in a metal pan ceiling.

Island Downlight Ceiling

The main difference between the island downlight ceiling and the downlight ceiling is that the particle board core can be faced with a powder coat, stainless steel or bronze instead of the standard metal pan.

Suspended Ceiling

Providing white translucent diffusers for the fluorescent lighting, this style of ceiling has a metal or aluminum frame with different finish options. Suspended ceilings are a modern option with optimal lighting for your passengers.
