Elevator openings provide access from landings or floors into the elevator cab. It is possible to have two openings on the same landing, which is the case for double-sided or front/rear-opening elevators. These openings consist of the elevator doors, hoistway doors and the other components that make up those modules. A landing is the area directly outside of the elevator opening.
