This requires digging large holes which house the various components of the jack. Major components of a conventional jack include:
- Plunger
- Jack Head
- Cylinder
- Pit Channel
- Concrete Cap
- Pit Floor
- Steel Casing
- Bottom Seal
Conventional elevator jacks can either be a single-piece jack or a multi-section jack, which is more common when higher travel distances are required.
